PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) FACIAL TREATMENT:

Commonly referred to as the Vampire Facial

What is it?

PRP facial treatments are one of the newest and most advanced, non-invasive aesthetic treatments currently available. It combines micro-needling with the topical application of platelet rich plasma to stimulate the skin's ability to build collagen. The micro-needling pen creates tiny punctures in the skin to create controlled damage deep within the skin. This purposeful destruction stimulates the skin to construct new collagen matrixes. So how does the PRP come in? PRP is platelet rich plasma. In this particular treatment, The PRP acts as a serum created by your own blood, which contains growth factors. The result is an increase in collagen.

What is it used for?

There are many benefits of this treatment including the reduction of acne and acne scars, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, improvements in the skin's texture, improving the elasticity and volume of the skin, and reducing crow's feet and dark circles.

What can I expect during the treatment?

Prior to the treatment, the patient's blood is drawn, and then spun to allow the PRP to be extracted. The patient's face is then numbed well using a topical anesthetic to minimize any pain or discomfort during the treatment. The actually procedure starts by applying hyloronic acid serum to the face and then running the micropen over the area. The PRP is then applied like a serum and the micropen is used again. I repeat this process once more.

What can I expect post treatment?

Unlike many other cosmetic procedures, there is relatively very little down time. You can expect your skin to be red for a day or two after treatment. We advise that you leave the PRP on your face for as long as possible the day following the treatment, and that you avoid using any harsh skin care products such as acids for 3-5 days post treatment. You will be given a detailed handout with specific post care instructions after your procedure. After this redness fades you can see overall improvement in the texture of the skin, less fine lines and wrinkles, and an improvement in acne, acne scars, and pore size.

How often should I repeat the procedure?

While you can expect to see significant results after your first treatment, the benefits are the best if you repeat treatments every 4-6 weeks. After a few treatments you can space subsequent treatments out every 3-6 months for maintenance.

PRP FACIAL INJECTIONS:

PRP facial injections help you achieve the look of a non-surgical face lift with out the intense procedure and long down time. Unlike other fillers where artificial products are injected into the skin, PRP injections use only your own blood, after it has been spun in a centrifuge to allow for the extraction of the platelet rich plasma. The PRP not only acts like a filler to help eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but the it also helps to stimulate collagen production. The growth factors in the PRP help to increase healing and rejuvenation of the skin. It can help to tone, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin, improve the overall quality of the skin, and decrease the degeneration that leads to unwanted fine lines, wrinkles, and bags. This makes this unique procedure both cosmetic and preventative.

is there any downtime?

You might experience mild redness or slight bruising at the injection site. Most patients experience little to no downtime.

How many treatments do I need?

You could notice significant results after just one treatment, but optimal results are achieved when treatments are repeated every 6-8 weeks to support the formation and rebuilding of the collagen matrix.
